Dear parents, Are we having fun yet?

Epiphany: when my two year old son is having fun, I’m having fun. This goes deeper than the superficiality of this statement. I mean that my new definition of fun, maybe better defined as joy, is when my son is enjoying himself. That’s more fun for me than doing something ‘fun’ that I could do on my own.

I was skeptical of how much I would enjoy a full day of lock, stock commercialism at SeaWorld. Watching my son grin ear-to-ear as he saw sea turtles for the first time or when he played in the water fountain and kept screaming repeatedly out of excitement…that was a lot of fun.
